Mission on the Bay

Mission On the Bay was established by St. John’s with the Episcopal Diocese of Texas in response to a need in our parish and community.  Six months after hurricane Ike made landfall, we realized people were still trying to put their lives (and homes) back together. 

 

Many people still fighting with FEMA and insurance companies were loosing hope.  We decided we could be the hands and feet of the body of Christ and bring some hope to our neighbors.

 

Mission On the Bay assists those needing help in all areas of rebuilding: clean out, demo, sheet-rock, flooring, painting, yard work...anything that can be done by volunteers we will try to do.

 

Currently we are send mission teams out when they are available. 

 Do You Need Assistance?

The process for receiving help is simple:

· Complete a Hurricane Ike Survey and return it to St. John’s

             Survey: PDF format

· Meet with a member of our assessment team (after we receive the survey)

· Allow our volunteers into your home

How Do I Volunteer?

Anyone can volunteer: 

Individuals, families, churches, youth groups, scouts, etc. (we ask that all youth are supervised by their organization leaders)
